A year of study in Southern France sparked a love of travel that continues to inform her work. Many years of teaching art and craft to children and adults of all ages honed her listening and communications skills. While showing her work through public and private spaces, she began painting and selling art furniture, then trained and worked with the Paint Effects Shop and Studio in San Francisco from 1997-2001. There, she taught decorative painting techniques and competed custom projects on referral.

She is a member of the International Association of Colour Consultants/Designers, North America, (IACC-NA), and a past member of IDAL, the International Decorative Artisans League. She has served as the "Color Muze" for blog talk radio's Artistically Speaking Talk Show and Cre8tive Compass Magazine, "Expert Columnist" on Decorative Painting for the Bay Area Women's Journal, and participating artist for HGTV Curb Appeal. Debra has worked as an color consultant with Modamas FIne Painting, Creative Paint, and 3C Marketing Group LLC. She shares how she built her business in a two-part interview on the art business site Artsy Shark,

Experience shows that we can become more calm, energetic, stimulated, peaceful and alive through interaction with our visual surroundings. Color, texture, pattern and imagery can enhance, beautify, and transform the built environment, as well as communicate hopes, thoughts, ideas and experiences. In an increasingly technological world, there is a corresponding need for work created by hand; art and craft which expresses the individual or group. In meeting this need, ArtiFactory Studio can help to balance, beautify, and transform our world, one space at a time.

Text description of
photoArtiFactory Studio offers a wide range of technical and artistic skills, a wealth of experience and creativity, and a proven customer track record, but its main feature is individualized customer service, and the customization of every project. Every finish, mural, design and treatment is tailor-made to the Client's need, environment, interest, and inner vision. How is this achieved? From our complimentary first meeting, through the sampling process, to the finished project, the focus is on hearing what you, the Client, have to say, seeing what you respond to, and speaking with you, to make sure your project is progressing in the desired direction. As one Client said of her mural; "I am constantly amazed that you were able to create and depict what I could only talk about."
