About ArtiFactory Studio
Debra Disman,
principal of ArtiFactory Studio, majored in painting at the University
of Iowa, where she also participated in the Iowa Writers Workshop in
Poetry. A year of study in Southern France sparked a love of travel
that continues to inform her work. Many years of teaching art and craft
to children and adults of all ages honed her listening and communications
skills. While showing her work through public and private
spaces, she began painting and selling art furniture, then trained and
worked with the Paint Effects Shop and Studio in San Francisco from
1997-2001. There, she taught decorative painting techniques and competed
custom projects on referral.
Sole proprietor of ArtiFactory Studio
since 2001, Debra draws upon her extensive background in art and art history,
ornamentation, and color to create custom decorative painting, faux finishes, color design,
and murals for customers from all backgrounds and walks of life. She is an Associate Member of the International Association of Colour Consultants/Designers, North America, and serves as the "Color Muze" for blog talk radio's Artistically Speaking and Cre8tive Compass Magazine. She has served also as "Expert Columnist" on the field of Decorative Painting for the San Francisco Bay Area Women's Journal, independent color consultant for Modamas FIne Painting, and In-store color consultant for Benjamin Moore Creative Paint..
Experience shows that we can become more calm, energetic, stimulated,
peaceful and alive through interaction with our visual surroundings.
Color, texture, pattern and imagery can enhance, beautify,
and transform the built environment, as well as communicate
hopes, thoughts, ideas and experiences. In an increasingly technological
world, there is a corresponding need for work created by hand; art and
craft which expresses the individual or group. In meeting this need,
ArtiFactory Studio can help to balance, beautify, and transform
our world, one space at a time.
ArtiFactory Studio
offers a wide range of technical and artistic skills, a wealth of experience
and creativity, and a proven customer track record, but its main feature
is individualized customer service, and the customization
of every project. Every finish, mural, design and treatment is
tailor-made to the Client's need, environment, interest, and inner vision.
How is this achieved? From our complimentary first meeting, through
the sampling process, to the finished project, the focus is on hearing
what you, the Client, has to say, seeing what
you respond to, and speaking with you,
to make sure your project is progressing in the desired
direction. As one Client said of her mural; "I am constantly
amazed that you were able to create and depict what I could only talk
about."
